The Aguilera brothers have established themselves as a coffee-growing dynasty in the West Valley region of Costa Rica. The 12 brothers have been growing coffee in the region for over 60 years, focusing on their specialty for the past 20 years. Across all of the family's farms, they produce over 35 varieties with a variety of processing methods, all processed in the family's own micro-mill. The Aguileras are dedicated to producing the highest quality coffee possible, and have consistently competed in the Costa Rica Cup of Excellence competition.
Most recently, Aguilera was awarded the 2023 COE for his Finca Toño coffee. First discovered and rarely found outside of Costa Rica, Villa Sarqui is a mutation of the Bourbon variety. Processed using natural methods, this coffee is big and fruity, with flavors of blackcurrant and plum.
